M111 Linear Position Sensor

The intrinsically safe M111 is ATEX and IECEx approved for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour, dust atmospheres and mining environments. This heavy-duty version of the M101 sensor with a stronger 12.6mm push rod, recommended for applications where vibration is an issue or there is a need for longer travel sensors, mounted horizontally, and supported between rod eyes.

It remains an affordable, durable, highaccuracy position sensor designed for industrial and scientific feedback applications. The unit is highly compact and space-efficient, being responsive along almost its entire length.

Like all Positek sensors, the M111 provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in.

The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod being made of stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance. Overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is easy to install with mounting options including M8 rod eye bearings and body clamps. The push rod can be supplied free or captive, with female M8 thread, an M8 rod eye, or dome end, Captive push rods can be sprung loaded, in either direction, on sensors up to 300mm of travel. The M111 also offers a range of mechanical options, environmental sealing is to IP67.

Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier. Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (X005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.

The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.

All of Positek’s position sensors are manufactured to the highest quality and use our very own patented non-contact technology. This helps to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and reliability, even in the harshest of environments. Every position sensor that Positek manufactures uses their inductive sensor technology to ensure high-precision results, and is fully customisable to meet the unique requirements of your business.

With over 25 years’ experience as a sensor manufacturer and using our onsite production facility, Positek has the flexibility to manufacture and customise any industrial position sensor, including tilt sensors and inclinometers, to any size or specification.

Positek offers a range of options for its standard sensors. Each sensor is manufactured to suit each customer's preferences. If your requirement is outside the options given below, Positek can modify/ redesign a sensor to suit your specific requirement. Standard options are available as below:

Measurement Range

Factory set to any length from 0-5mm to 0-800mm in increments of 1mm. For example, if your application requires 10" (254mm) measurement, then Positek will manufacture the sensor specifically for this length. The mechanical length and calibration will be set up for 254mm.
